Well here I'm again in the New Arrival section... I am trying to do a better job and presenting my new watches.. I was slacking for a while. So I bought 3 watches last week and this is the 2nd arrival this week![]() I put the watch on tonight after work and I gotta say it is or wears biger than I expected. It is a big chunk of steel, solid, heavy, well build with a smooth uniform brushed finish. The watch is big, long, wide and thick! It sits tall on the wrist and has significantly curved lugs. It works for my wrist but I could see how it'd be a problem for guys with big wrist. Though the bezel isn't as nice as on the DB 2000, it looks and feels better than I expected. The lume pip is nice, bezel turns with just the right resistance and authority, with 120 clear clicks that are a pleasure to listen to. The crown is super mooth and easy to operate, no issues there. I like how the case has no crown guards on this model, it appeals to me more vs the 2000m case for some reason. maybe it is because a lot of those divers have crown guards these days. The bracelet is solid as well, well executed with a diver extension, screw bar links, 4 micro adjustments and logo on the clasp. The watch is powered by the ETA 2824 workhorse and reliable mvt, which you can see thru the exhibition caseback. Other specs are WR 500m, Shaphire crystal, screw down crown, individual serial #, bracelet also has 1/2 links, Super-LumiNova BGW9 ICE Blue lume.. Size: 45mm case, 15mm height, 55mm top lug to bottom Lug, 22mm Strap Lugs, 230 Grams, 9 ounces It came with the whole package as delivered from Stan: Carrying case, 22mm 3 Ring Nylon Zulu Band, 22 Silicon Divers Band, Screwdriver, Spring bar tool, papers. I really like the deep balck wave dial and lumed orange sword hands, a nice combo. The lume markers also look great and I like the subtle white frame around the date window. I think the only think that bothers me is its size and profile just a tad. The dial is real nice, actually nicer than I thought from the pics I had seen posted on the various WRUW daily threads. Well on to pics now... let me know what you think. I had to check this watch out after reading much about it... But I am planning on getting a Kemmner Octopus and wonder if this will see wrist time once the 2000m Octopus lands ![]() Cheers Brice ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I like the watch on principle being a big toolish diver, but I have to say there is a design thread running through the DB offerings that turns me away. Usually its the oversize logo but on this one I don't like the GIANT SWISS AUTOMATIC on the dial. Again, a case of a watch trying too hard to be Swiss when it isn't. Just leave that crap off and let the darn watch be what it is... Aside from that the dial has the sweet wave pattern and you have the spec for a serious tool. Not trying to rain on your parade...jmho. ![]()

Thank you all! Mark no pb. I actually agree with you. I'd prefer they leave this off the dial too plus it tends to just clutter the dial. Unnecessary IMO. That and the size are two downsides for me of this otherwise great watch. Kinda why I got it used rather than new from Stan.

Congrats on the new arrival Brice! ![]() Man, amigo...I honestly cannot keep up with your collection...they seem to be coming and going at a break neck pace here lately amigo!!! ![]() ![]() This one does look like quite a hunk of steel!!! ![]() ...looks very well built and the case finish looks very nice. I like the wave dial, and the exhibition back is definitely something rare in a deep diver, but the sub-minute markers and large amounts of dial script seem to make the dial overly busy (only my opinion though). Mark's comments above about DB in general sort of resonate with me...I just can't quite put my finger on it, but something about the DB models keeps me from acquiring one. Based on your comments above, I'm not sure if this is going to be a keeper for you Brice...(but let's be honest...not many are!!! ![]() Enjoy this one for as long as you want to Brice!!!

I had one of these and I thought it was a very nice watch. But the lugs on that thing were so sharp I thought it was going to slice my wrist up. Hopefully you are not having that problem.

Chris you are right on. The sub min marks are useless and adds to the already busy dial. Too much writing in the dial. You were also right... It may not make the week end :) mostly due to it's size and lug shape :). But it's a very well built watch for sure. Great wrist presence.
