Well today around 1pm the mailman handed me a package containing my first Anonimo ever, and I can tell already that it will not be my last one if I can afford others.

I've been looking around the forums and on the internet for an Anonimo in my price range that would be original and thought could be a good fit for me. The GMT complication was pretty cool on this one and I actually use the second time zone as I have family in France and also a team in India. I often work with folks abroad so I have occasions to put the GMT to use. So I thought both the GMT and power reserve combined made this one an interesting and less common specimen.

I really also was intrigued by the DRASS Ox-Pro finish of the case, not one you see on too many watches so that was a plus as well as the grey dial this particular Wayfarer came with. I just liked the color combo with just a tad of blue and red on the dial to liven things up a bit. The dial has a lot going on but looks great on the wrist is not extravagant at all. The lume on the hands is really good, much better than I epxected to be honest, rivals the one on my Vintage Red for example. The case appeasr to be about 43mm, 46-47mm withthe crown.

The strap is also very nice, the leather is treated to take on fresh and salty water, but is very comfortable and feels real good to the touch, thick but supple. The buckle shape is a perfect match for this watch and the discrete Anonimo logo on the back of the thick buckle suits me just fine. The strap attaches to the 22mm lugs with screw bars

The case back is cool with lots of the information on the watch, from Brand to model name and number, WR, the proud "Made in Italy" and OX-Pro special edition along with the LE #. This one is # 133.

What impresses me is the finish, the watch just oozes quality, demands respect, it seems to speak to you about its history, hand-made watch traditions. It just has that effect, that is hard to describe but the watch just speaks to you and you just can tell it is built with the highest quality standards.bravo.gif

I am very pleased with it and will buy another Anonimo in the future when the time is right and the right opportunity presents itself. Maybe a version with a more simple dial, no complications, just a basic 3 hand with date model. But I know for sure it is not my last Anonimosubtlelaugh.gif. Now I am going to play with straps and see if I can find a fun combo so I have options and switch once in a while.

Here are details on the watch that one can find on the web:

MovementAutomatic MICAL 2892-17 with additional module for GMT functions; base module ETA 2892A2; 21 jewels, rhodium-plated soigné finish, Anonimo engraved on rotor, adjusted 4 positions, 28.800 A/h. Congrats on your first Anonimo Brice!!!!party.gif

This light grey dial combined with the all DRASS case is one of my favorite combinations for the Wayfarer II.

These Anonimos definitely have soul, no?  The machining that they do from a solid billet of material combined with the extra hand finishing steps really shows through when you hold one in your hand IMO.

Very nicely played amigo, very nicely played. thumbsup.gifbravo.gif
