I had been wanting a Bronze Anonimo for some time, and the Polluce was the one that really sung to me. But they don't come up for sale too often so I had been considering getting a Benarus Moray Bronze later instead, which is a wonderful watch too. But then this beauty just came up on the sales forum on WUS and I could not believe my eyes! Problem is I was short $ when it first came up bad timing! Lucky for me it did not sell right away and I was able to buy it from Erik who was awesome by the way (Nitro470)!
The watch came with the awesome inner box, as well as the outer box, book, CD, warranty card.. and it was on a Di Modell strap, nice strap but not for me, not for this watch! I had to find an Anonimo strap. I just love those water resistant Kodiak straps, I have one on my Wayfarer II and it is most comfortable. So I since have been able to acquire a new Anonimo leather strap from another cool WUS member, Nelson >:(. I also am getting a custom leather from Paul at Orb-Strap something a little different for this watch, it is a 5mm thick Biscuit leather strap with rough finish, round strap end, Hand stitched with White Linen thread and wrapped lug stitching with Brown edge cote to sides. Until these two straps land, it is on my Bali Hai textured black leather strap. The lug design makes it hard to find a strap that'll fit.
Anyway, I got the watch 72 hours ago, and it has been on my wrist since, it currently is -1 second after 72 hrs I love everything about it, mostly the superb bronze case with amazing finish, the awesome 10mm crown, beautiful dial and the story behind the watch.. if you have a few minutes, read this...
DeskDivers.com - Polluce, the Legend and the Anonimo Commemorative Timepiece
The dial is gorgeous and fairly symmetrical, the date at 3:30 allows for symmetry and whole numbers at 12, 3, 6 and 9. The two logos on the dial add a little charm & tie to its story and some subtle color with the red M. The case is borrowed from the Millimetri while the oversized crown and HEV comes from the Hi Dive, allowing for a 1200m WR. The case is made with UNI 5275 bronze, a high strength nickel aluminium bronze offering strong saltwater anticorrosion properties. "It is often employed in hi-tech naval applications such as ship’s propellers, pumps, impellers and torpedo parts." The reason I, like many others, like Bronze is the patina it develops over time, ever changing into a non uniform and unqiue surface finish reflecting its own history and personality as each is unqiue and develos differently based how the owner "lives with it". Just awesome! Finally I gotta say I am impressed with the lume, among the best in my collection, lasts all night!
