After years of thinking about having a RADO watch, I can finally stop thinking about it

WOW!!! That is beautiful!!

That is a massive case and bracelet, the polishing looks flawless... I love the deep machining of the "RADO" name on the case side. the dial is amazing on this, and the lume is hot..I love the way they did the lume a lighter green on the first fifteen minutes.

Really a great looking design Congrats

Is this case & bracelet tungsten?

I've been looking for one of these for a couple years!! Did you get this used, if I may ask, and if so I hate myself for missing it. I still kick myself for passing one one a few years back. Big cograts on what I think is a distinctive diver.thumbsup.gif

@joecb--if I'm not mistaken the case is tungsten but not the bracelet which is ss with the exception of the clasp which is titanium... I might be wrong.toon1.gif

Congrats on this very distinctive acquisition rvs !!!!thumbsup.gif

Very cool pickup...is it true that the 'anchor' on the dial also rotates??? (looks like it from your pics)...if so, is that anchor connected to the mechanism rotor or does it move with the watch's timekeeping?

Enjoy this one!!!

Thanks guys thankyou.gif

As Paxman said, the case (upper section of the case - bezel as they call it) is their "hardmetal" which is a Tungsten carbide powder compressed into this metal form.  The lower section, where the crowns are, and caseback is in stainless steel.  The bracelet also in SS with the clasps internal links and clasp extender piece (I think it's an extender?), is in titanium.

The anchor rotates freely and is not linked to anything mechanical in the movement.  As I understand, the anchor is symbolic piece that RADO implemented into their dial designs to represent key parts that make up an automatic - the jewels and the swinging rotor.  Something along those lines as I recall  ;)
