I guess this is worthy of a new arrival thread. My unbearably huge A3 has been fueling my itch for a nice blue diver so when this came up for sale a couple of weeks ago I just had to check it out. It's even better than I hoped for. HE valve at 8:00 (a preferable location compared to most at 9:00) Nice crown with lots of threads, domed sapphire, tons of superlume and Fricker made so it's good to go out of the box with no worries! It will have to make a trip to Teddyhanna for a little beadblast refinishing (cuz I'm OCD that way) but it's in great overall shape! This is my second Muhle diver and they are both keepers! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Congrats: It's a good diver! Unusual bezel there: Not so much my style but I appreciate the difference... Looking at the holes, seems like the case back was opened? Was it through a movement revision already?

I noticed the tool marks on the caseback, their is a wear pattern from a Nato strap too that is not in alignment with the lugs so it was opened at some point in time.. It pressure tested to 100m and it's running well so I have no reason to open it again just too look and see. As well as it's running I would guess it was probably opened and timed at some point in time.

Seen my share of "slaughtered" screws and scratches on movements serviced by amateurs having a watch boutique and claiming to be watch-makers. 100m tested is no big deal: Specially for a 1000m case if you didn't make a typo mistake. If it was me, I would open it and check the movement for sleazy screwdriver moves. I just don't check watches who never been opened: I always check the serviced ones. Specially if the case back has marks: Just my 2 cents...

OK you've awakened my paranoia! ![]() ![]() double gasket should be good for twice it's rated depth, Anti-magnetic/dust cover, a quick peek under the dust cover showed a custom Muhle rotor and matching Muhle stamped 2824 in excellent condition. Caseback and gasket ring grooves cleaned, gaskets lightly oiled then silicone greased. I have a box I fill with argon and close the watch back up in the box so it's got clean inert gas inside. The tool marks are easy to understand now that I have opened it. It would take a custom caseback key for the Muhle or custom round 2.5mm bits for the Jaxa type wrench to minimize the tool marks... I didn't find any jewelers marks inside the caseback and the movement appears clean with no signs of screws having been removed or installed so there was no major work done! Paranoia back to sleep!

Good stuff! We never know: Now there's no more doubt...I use rubber tools for the case-backs(ball&stamp) but it don't work on everything. There's some keys with rubber cups on them: They are very efficient. I will buy me a set one day: I hate marks on screws or case-back holes...I haunts me ![]()
