Hello,

This evening I wish to present to you, my current Holy Grail.
The watch I am about to share with all of you tonight was purchased by my mom for my dad, on Friday June 28, 1972.

About the watch:

It is a pie-pan Rolex ref. 1601 DateJust in silver linen dial with no lume, which makes it a rare timepiece. The serial number is 2801936, manufactured in 4th Quarter of 1971.

Perfect Datejust Simon!
There is someting about those early 70's ones I like, I've always been afraid to buy one, they are so wearable I wouldn't be able to keep it as a safe queen!

Thank you, Olde Crow.

This early 70's DateJust has the folded 6251H jubilee bracelet, which are much thinner profile and extremely comfortable to wear.

Thank you Oscar it's good to be back. I often thought of vintage watches as timepieces from the 1940-early 1960. With Rolex from the early 1970s, is it safe to say that this is considered as a "Modern Classic?"
