Alright...  I did it.

After debating between a Sinn 857 and Doxa 1000T Sharky, I decided to go with a Doxa.  I never seen the watch in person and this is my first time purchasing a watch without seeing it in person.  The sharky looks great in pictures but hopefully my left wrist will like it.

Debated between orange dial vs. black and ended up with black.

According to Doxa, there's 1 month delay in sending out orders so I won't be receiving the watch until sometime in August.  Oh well, I just have to wait.  Will post pictures once it arrives here.

PS.  Don't tell my fiancee.  I'm not supposed to buy another watch, well at least not this year.toon1.gif

Great choice... congrats - but bummer about having to wait so long.  Yes, we all thought the Blackbird was your last acquisition - but don't sweat it, we won't tell (most of us are in the same boat)!

First I will congratulate you on the incoming Doxa. Great looking watch and I am certain you won't be disappointed with it. I am hoping the do these in Divingstar or Searambler mode...

Secondly I will chastise you for disobeying your very generous fiance's wishes. Didn't she just buy you a Blackbird? Lordy God sakes alive. I am only doing this to be in good with your fiance should you share any of this with her...

Thirdly I am curious to where you are in Frisco? Spent 12 years hopping around the Penninsula... miss it!!

Now begins the oh so painfully long wait...

Thanks guys.  I was on the Sinn's reserve list before my fiancee bought me the blackbird.  Sinn emailed me couple of weeks ago saying that the 857 is in.  I was a big fan of Doxa but never had an opportunity to check it in person.

Thanks to you guys and this forum, I saw the posting about 30% off and free shipping, I had to pull the trigger on a sharky.

Fortunately, she likes men watches.  She is currently wearing my Invicta Sub.  I just need to figure out a way to explain how I ended up with a Doxa.  Because she will know.  hearteyes.gif

Paxman - I'm in Marina/Cow Hollow area in SF.  Love it out here.

Rationalize, rationalize, rationalize... Fair enough.

I bounced around the Pnenninsula from Palo alto, Saratoga, Los Gatos and even over to Santa Cruz. Lots of fun stuff for a young Pax to get into.

I learned about SF's micro climate the hard way One fine summer day a friend invited me up to her place in the Haight. I jumped in the car and left. It was about a 25 degree temperature difference between my place in Los Gatos and the city!! I froze my ass off that day!!

I am interested in hearing what you think of the watch. Please keep us updated and congrats!!
