I AM A SPACTARD, THIS BELONGS IN NEW ARRIVALS OOPS MY BAD oc Well it was a rough afternoon deciding whether or not I liked it . This is the first one I have got that had real problems with fit and finish it was a bit disappointing but I think I have sorted it all out after some bracelet reconstruction.... I told a fellow wiz I was thinking about this watch and he promptly bought one for himself, even paid for overnight shipping! I waited a couple days longer to make up my mind and used a coupon to get a discount so It served him right for the preemptive watch purchase :D I can say the watch head is remarkable fit, finish, bezel alignment crown etc. all perfect it even has a nice light blue AR finish on the inside of the sapphire. All the hands line up and the date rolls exactly at 12. The bracelet arrived scratched from shipping without any mylar to protect it. After removing the bracelet and refinishing the brushed finish I then discovered that a couple of the removable links were defective since I had already re-brushed the bracelet I elected to fix the links too. The clasp hardware was so tight that I had to pry it apart and loosen it, of course I scratched the clasp under the bail doing this but it will clean up with the dremel the first time I have to get serious about a scratch on the clasp... Then I noticed a spec of dust on the minute hand so I had to open it up and clean off the minute hand... With that all out of the way a quick once over with the cape cod to soften the brushed finish ever so slightly and I am satisfied that it is acceptable! Next time I will take a much closer look before I start in on a new arrival though, it would have been easier to send it back for another one! Well as I am sure everyone knows but never does, you should always closely inspect every watch that you receive, you know It's the same thing as when I tell a customer they should backup their data every week and then I come home to my computer which I haven't' backed up since um... dos 5.5!! goofy It takes a very nice watch to keep me interested after all the little things that I found wrong with it yesterday, and I still like it a lot! The only lingering complaint I have is that the end links are poorly fit to this case and I suppose that is because they are designed to fit the divers and this case is slightly different. I wish I could say go out and buy one but with the dollar as soft as it is right now 500 dollars is still half way to an Omega which even used is still a sure thing. Between Inflation and added markup these no name brands are not nearly as attractive as they were last year. The "good ole days" of scratch and dent sales from them yielded an exceptional value but now I'm afraid they out of my league for anything less than a sure thing. For the rest of the world with a stronger dollar if the price point is still fair then I suppose the value is still there but I'm going to retire from watches for a while and go back to my shop to catch up on my car projects where my labor still yields the same amount of work per hour as it did last year.
