I have actually owned quite a few plated watches over the years, I have yet to see a perfect one but this one is the worst one I have got so far.

turn monitor upside down to view next image properly.

Chris,

That sucks man......mine isn't great either but way better than that. I had one link that was missing plating on the lower corner.

Hopefully Seiko will stand behind it.:?

Hate to see that Chris as mine is pretty much perfect:( I have heard through the grapevine that some of these selling on the bay and at lower prices are actually secondsmistake.gif

To be honest it's not a deal breaker ( I intended to use it on a zulu) but I still like to get what I pay for especially right now with my dollar not going very far.

The interesting thing is that the back of the peeled off coating is siver colored like it lifted a thin layer of steel off too.

As far as it being a second it's from a reputable vendor, box papers signed warranty card so I won't have any trouble there but I don't want to pay to send it back and for that matter I don't want to send the watch back at all. If The vendor won't exchange the bracelet only I will just complain loudly and wear it on the zulu like I planed on doing ;)

Plus it's just the price you pay for plating a polished surface it will look nice for a while but eventually it's coming off!

WOW
That is a total bummer Chris. :(  I never would have thought that a Seiko would do that.
I hope your seller takes care of it for you.

Sincerely,
Griff

I think this one is going to work out OK! One of our great members here offered to send me his bracelet as he wasn't using it, what a great place to hang my hat!

I will negotiate with the vendor for a price brake on my next purchase or a partial refund. I got a price brake on this one because he owed me for a previous return, I hope this doesn't turn into a pattern... ;)

At any rate with another good bracelet safely tucked away so the obsessive anal retentive voice in my head will shut up I will see if I can get the bad bracelet completely cleaned up and use it on a cheaper to buy rubber strap stainless model!

I am going to take more pictures of the bracelet now that I have cleaned it up even more of the PVD has come off interestingly only on one side! they must assemble the bracelet links separately from assembling the whole bracelet, whatever the cause is it seems only one side of the bracelet was exposed.
