5 more days until the 08 F1 season.  I'm very excited.  Any F1 fans?  I know there were a few.  Looks to be a great season.

Yes, I watch it though I'm not a huge fan. I grew up around Indy cars and NASCAR so I put more time into those two. I lived in Indy for seven years. Yeah its circle racing, but I like it. I I even watch the dirt track stuff. cat28.gif

subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif Take your camera!! What the hey is going on with Champ/IRL. Did they split just to get back together? And are they going to do ovals or streets or what? May be both? Is this a good thing?

Champ car has been dissolved. The IRL will add three (maybe four) of the former Champ car events to its schedule. That will broaden the IRL appeal a bit so some of you L+R turners might watch.

Unfortunately, a lot of the bigger names in the IRL have left to race in NASCAR. So, it may take the new combined series a long time to gain a larger following.

At least now the IRL races will have more cars starting events with the influx of at least six teams from Champ car.

Do you think Hamilton and Mclaren will find a new way to cheat this year or do you believe with the criminal investigations they will keep it on the down low for a minute.  I forgot they more than likely made Alonso give up his set up info so they could use those settings on Hamilton's car, because you remember that when they were taken away last season that Hamilton's pace dropped off.

I couldn't agree more with McClaren and their cheating, Avery. I hope that's behind them though you know F1 is straight up cut-throat and they will do anything for the slightest advantage. You'll note I was careful to say Hamilton fan and not a fan of the team. Yes his pace dropped off a bit and he suddenly made some mistakes but I think he shows great promise. Until there's a viable American driver in F1 or Eddie Irvine makes a comeback I am fairly ambivalent.

Although I love F1 I do have a disdain for the apparent caste system which exists. The one exception is Toyota who has thrown a ton of money at F1 and come away pretty much empty handed. I am bored with the Mcclarens, Ferrari and Renaults although they continue to push.

He will be champ one year, I just hope for the Brit's that he does not do it at the expense of his name and character.  Alonso had an agenda when he testified, but the team getting real time info before the pit stops and all of the technical data was not only cheating it was illegal and the police searches are still on going as far as I know.

One thing that the intel field agents taught me, you sleep with dogs you get fleas, and there is no way to get around it.

He was the champ until he blew it in China.  Oh the trappings of youth and inexperience.  He didn't even have to win.  I'm sure his day will come again.  I'm a fan of Kimi so I'm glad luck stayed with him through the las tthree races, especially Brazil, since the race ended in the only possible way he could have won the championship.  That was a great race.  I think McLaren is going to be on the FIA radar plus you always have one or two cry-babies who are going to try to call foul on them.
