For those of you who don't know...this is the CIB (Combat Infantryman's badge)... It is probably the most coveted award in the US Army. It can only be awarded to an Infantryman (or someone serving in an Infantry Unit in an Infantry MOS - Military Occupational Specialty). Other awards, up to and including the Medal of Honor, are awarded for single acts of bravery (in my opinion, bravery, in combat, is the rule rather than the exception). The CIB is awarded for sustained exposure to hostile fire over an extended length of time (usually a miniumum of 90 days). Congratulation, Jeff, on your award of the CIB...and the Army Commendation Medal! You are my Hero! Thank you for your service!

Oscar, Steve, aloy and Ken, Thanks guys. This'll probably be the last time I check in for a couple of days. We're supposed to fly out tomorrow afternoon, heading to Kuwait then back to Ft Bliss. I'm not sure how long we'll be at Ft Bliss, it could be as little as 3 days or it could be a week. We just don't know. Anyway, take care and I'll talk to you guys soon.
