As the fireworks went off, it flashed thru my mind that it was the 40th anniversary, almost to the hour, of being overrun at Dau Tieng Base Camp!

Not a good flash back Ken. Hope it passed quick. I know some Vets of various wars and conflicts who have a night of Hell during fireworks.

That doesn't sound like a particularly pleasant memory. I was thinking of you last night as I blew stuff up! Again, Ken... and I can never say it enough... thank you for your service and friendship! thankyou.gif

Ken, sorry to hear about your flashback.  Hopefully as it faded you were able to remember the buddies you served with and honor them with that moment.  Thanks for defending our freedoms and for being a hero.  Have a great day.

Thanks, guys...in a way it was almost humorous.  I usually don't have a problem with fireworks when I am watching them...only when they are background noise!

Well said Norm...I'd like to second that.

WOW!  Didn't think I would elicit this kind of response...but thank you all...as for hero...I am no hero...just an average "joe" that's feels that servicg my country (regardless of how I feel about its government) is an honor.  The real heroes did not come back.
