I have chose to share with you the Christopher Ward C8 Black Hawk.![]() (Let me apologize now for the pictures. I am not a photographer and I do not have the equipment.) Oddly enough, even in this large forum, Christopher Ward's watches appear to be uncommon. Ward's designs are unique and visually pleasing, but may also be perceived as "trendy". I can not speak on behalf of the entire Christopher Ward collection however I find that the C8 is an unique twist on a classic design. ![]() (The dial is clean, sharp, but very elaborate. Ward chose to add color to this classic design and he did a fine job. Selecting perfect hues and adding complex details like the entirely luminescent second hand.) Any respectable watch idiot savant knows that the original pilot watch was required to be accurate and easy to read. However today the pilot design is a conservative, understated watch and the common public identifier of a WIS. ( I know someone can/will argue that this statement is not true.) Christopher Ward's C8 can not be labled a "homage" nor a clone, it is a mondern interpretation. I love the orginal pilot design's understated class and rich history. It is a terrific conversation piece and a watch that often identifies with the personality of it's owner. ![]() Unfortunately I often buy them to ultimately sell them. I'm mental and before I digress further I will treat this subject like Gossamer. The C8 has longevity. I do not believe this design is trendy. I am actually impressed by its refinement. Like a BMW every detail is congruent, every line in harmony with another, and it screams masculinity. ![]() The Black Hawk only stands 9.7mm off of your wrist making it comfortable and perfect for long sleeve shirts. ![]() To my understanding the C8 houses a high grade ETA 2824-2 and has a soft iron case and dial making it antimagnetic, which I think is just the bees knees. For those lume nuts, this is not a Seiko but its no bench warmer either. It's a regular starter that shines. ![]() Careful, like Kianu Reeves you'll step back and go "whoa...." The original strap and clasp are amazing but I think the dial pops with this Corvus "Real 007 Dive Strap". I love this watch and in my limited experience I do not believe it can be beat by similarly priced competitors. Thank you for your time, Danny H

Thanks Danny for the excellent, detailed writeup and pics!!!!![]() That Christopher Ward C8 Black Hawk is really a sweet piece. ...I agree with you 100%... an excellent modern interpretation of the classic pilot...this one has some really cool design aspects that you have been so detailed to point out...the use of color on the dial, hands, and lume is outstanding. Really like the strap that you have paired this with as well!! Great combo and enjoy this one!!!

I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this watch but what really impresses me is the lume. To me, lume is one of those details that most companies overlook and cut the corner on so its a true indicater of quality.

Great watch DannyH! And you're right: This is THE REAL Bond strap. Been a lot of "Bond models" on the market but this is the closest model to the one that Sean Connery used in Goldfinger...
