Perhaps I'm going to get shot here, or I may be asking a stupid question; but do any of these mods do anything to void the warranty, and to what extent could we mod a Benarus without violating the warranty?

The warranty has more to do with manufacturing defects such as the movements, bad battery in the quartz, or damaged case or dial that got overlooked. So that said, if you attempt to paint your watch and mess it all up, I can't replace your watch for you.

I can perform custom work on a watch that is shipped to me, and I will paint and mod some for sale on the website and they also come with the 1 year warranty for manufacturers defects.

Steve, after seeing the smokin' job YOU have done on the Moray and GMT, I would just as soon send you one of mine, or just pick up an extra when they become available.

I guess I should clarify something pertaining to my statement about acquiring the paint myself.

I was speaking more in terms to modding in general for other timepieces. Steve would be the only one I would have touch my Benarus. The skill level needed is much more then buying the paint and Steve has the skill.

Use at your own RISK

Steve has made it look very easy regardless of the watch brand, and has shared with us via these threads how simple it is to mod the watch, with minimal training.  And there are those of us (prolly NOT me LOL) that have skill when it comes to modding and other 'adjustments' to any watch.

As such, I got a little confident in my skills, and was considering doing some mod work until Steve gave me a dose of reality via the answer to the warranty question.  But I understand your point too.

I like it a lot, Steve. Not a common approach and surely a handsome transformation. Somehow even little touches can make a world of difference. I'd score your mod a 10.yourock.gif

The cool thing about this mod is that I no longer have to read the GMT hand, I can glance and see where it is on the orange or blue and with reference to noon and midnight at 12 and 6. I have the GMT hand set to Ralf's location so I know if we can connect to talk or not depending on the time there.
