I bought a Tropic Orange VR6 GLX GTI when they first came out. Barely started modding it when after a month of ownership someone ran a red light and totalled it. :(

So I had to drive a Dodge Neon for several months while I looked for a replacement. They were very rare and hard to get at the time. I ended up with the matchstick red.

I heavily modded it because I was into auto-x and track days and stuff...

But it was leased. I had it for about 4 years, the car had lost significant value due to so many special models released: R32, 20th ani, a few more I can't remember now...so resale plumetted. Also, I was wanting something a little less front heavy and a little more nuetral.

Plus the car payments and insurance were just too high to justify.

I parted it out and sold it just barely. It was a learning experience.

So I wanted a BMW. I was looking for an E30 (pre 1995?) as they were less expensive and very attractive. But a deal fell through and I ended up falling in love with the 328is.

I had it for about a year with modest mods to it, and someone rear ended me on the highway. Didn't think that was possible. So I bought it back from insurance, and parted it out. Then I parted a couple other cars out.

I took the car to bare metal, replaced the entire interior, the exterior trim, all the suspension, bushings, differential, cooling system, etc. Then I added a bunch of upgraded parts. All told I spent too much sadly. But it was well funded by the sale of car parts.

Now I just don't drive it enough....VA is a bad place to have a nice car. No radar detectors, undercover cops, low speed limits, HUGE speeding tickets, etc.
