Here's a problem I run into (some blame it on age)...since I change watches frequently (and don't believe in wearing my watches out on a winder), I need to set the time when I put them on. Frequently, I set them incorrectly, look at them in amazement, check it against my cell phone...and then reset it.
So...bottom line, you may have simply lined the minute hand up wrong that morning and not noticed it until later...could be my theory is all wet, too! :D
Until my incoming later today (well, it should be today) this is the only watch that I own, and it has been running constantly since I got it two months ago. I re-set it once a week or so (since it had been gaining about 2 minutes per week, I set it one minute behind and then re-set when it's one minute ahead). As far as I'm aware, I did nothing out of the ordinary yesterday -- wore it all day and then put it down, face up when I went to bed.
