You and Pax hit it right on the head, The Boschett Reef Ranger.  I would suggest the black (or possibly the blue) dial as it will "dress-up" better than the colors.  At the $500.00 price point, you cannot go wrong  It's your best bet!

I do not own an Ocean 1, but I have handled one (I do own the Steinhart/Debaufre Mach1) and it is a fine watch...the difference is that you can get the Boschett right now at an introductory price...I'm not sure what the ultimate price will be, but the $800 range is not out of the question.

That said, you cannot go wrong with either watch...they are both quality products!
