These are for the folks looking for the best of both worlds. No battery changes needed due to rotor powered yet they have the accuracy of the quartz. And the power reserve is much longer too, up to 3 weeks some times. I had one a few years ago and a friends kid talked me out of it. I should get another one one of these days. ;)
