I believe Seiko developed "Kinetic" and Citizen developed the solar powered "Eco", but, alas, as great looking as some of the models are, they are simply quartz with a rechargeable power cell rather than a disposable battery....at times, my weakness for "all things mechanical" overwhelms me!
It's a personal choice that I struggle with daily!
It can be tough...
