 The folding safety clasp on my Glycine bracelet has a significant scratch.  It is going to take some work with a Dremel tool to buff it out.

Can anyone share their insight on the best way to do this?  My bracelet has a brushed finish and my concern is that I'm going to polish the clasp to a mirror finish before I buff out this scratch.  Is there a polishing compound that is coarse enough to prevent this?  Or would it be better to just worry about the scratch first and then go back and brush the finish again?
