I don't think you're beating a dead horse, you're just not listening to those around you. Which, is fine, of course, we all should make our own decisions. I think you could take the watch to an AD, and they could contact Rolex to verify the serial number, etc. They might not be able to visually verify it's real, but if the serial number comes back good, and matches the originating dealers address (which would be in the paperwork you get) then that's a good sign. You could call and ask the Rolex dealer if they have a certified Watchmaker on the premesis that could open up the watch and verify it's authenticity (looking at the movement, etc). You might need to pay them to take the time to do this. Since you're getting it off the 'bay, how much versus MSRP are you saving?
