From reading older posts on this forum, I see it is an ongoing struggle of choices, choices, choices..... I'm off on a 3 week trip on the weekend. First stop Philadelphia, then spending a few days at the Hershey Fall meet in PA. After that on to Germany for two weeks. As usual, the question bodes: What ticker to take?:? My GMT II seems the logical choice, but I also have a very interesting dual time big face watch from Eastern origin that I've used before. Called a Schaffer, it boasts an automatic movement with date, day and hour complications. The small unit on the left is a quartz movement. Although bulky, the watch wears very well and keeps excellent time. Of course the Rolex is the ultimate (I don't have any other dual time / GMT watches) but there is no need to impress anyone on this trip (leisure), and there is always the niggling thought of losing such a piece..... I'm also picking up two watches I bought recently, and kept for me in PA. One is a Vostok Europe Red Square (my first Russian!) and the other a vintage rectangular 14k white gold omega. Can't wait! Attached, a quick cellphone pic of my Schaffer for reference. Attachment: 01102008394.jpg (Downloaded 114 times)
