Believe me I am no mechanical maven so take this for what is's worth...;) 3.5 RPM seems mild enough. 700 revolutions per day would seem about right to keep most watches wound. A nice resource for winding information can be found here: http://www.orbita.net/pages/17100.htm You can do the math for the day but suffice it to say the winder should run in intervals, one for rotations and one for rest. The watches need to be angled so that gravity will pull to rotor down. The rotor really doesn't rotate as much as the watch rotating around it. No shaking whatsoever is called for.:shock:
