KenC wroteExactly what I was going to say...she is a girlfriend, not a wife. If you can afford the watch without sacrificing anything else, then that is your right and your privilege. With the controlling image you portray of this girlfriend...perhaps it is time you went looking for a new one to go along with your new Grovano! Couldn't agree more. I'm married and haven't bought a watch in a while because I had other financial priorities. Things have turned slightly and it's about time for another purchase. Yes, my wife will roll her eyes and give me that "I can't believe I married such a geek" look. Much of this will be because she doesn't get the whole watch thing. She can't understand my purchasing a new watch when I've got half a dozen that cover the major styles and are all perfectly fine. She might even pick a fight but guess what.... I'm still going to buy one and will offer no apology for it. I love and respect my wife tremendously. I don't get on her about the 30 or so purses laying around the house or the sweater that was too good of a deal to pass. I do not expect that level of scrutiny over something like this. If I do get, I'll stand my ground. We'll talk it out. And she will get over it. It helps when I remind her that I'm the same guy she fell in love with 15 years ago.... only with more watches and without the big mullett.
