I remember reading about that and at first it didn't bother me too much... but the second hand jumping so far forward after setting was too much. I'm happy to say that my new one does not display either of the above issues.
Here is a chinese or japanese movement that has the same problem, this one has a 9 o'clock second hand with date, found in many reps watches it does hack.
For educational purpose only, draw your own conclusion:) I'm not saying that the cl 888 is a bad movement, especially if it has been refine in swizerland (who knows)
