Speaking of servicing -- I'm relatively new to mech. watches (got my first about a year ago) -- where do you guys to go get them serviced? Is it normal practice to ship them to a manufacturer, or is it OK for a local watch repair shop to have at it? Do you do this every 5 years or whatever, or do you only take them in when they start slowing down? Is it bad to wait for a problem instead of doing it at regular intervals regardless of performance? Are problems like the crystal on the Rolex above things that happen a lot?
