I am getting quite irritated with the fact that some of my watches tend to develop a smudgy film on the inside of the crystal. This is almost invisible unless the watch is inspectd in bright sunlight - then a thin film can clearly be seen, causing the crystal to look "dirty". I have had two watches opened and cleaned professionally recently for that very reason. Each time it turns out to be quite expensive. (Labour & seals) My watchmaker says that this is becoming more of a problem lately with the type of oils used to lubricate the movement. They tend to evaporate more than the older type oils. Admittedly our temperatures here probably help too! Anybody else with similar tales? I don't want to single out any particular brand because I've had this happen to both expensive and cheaper watches. Your feedback will be interesting.
