As a scuba diver, it makes it easier when you glance at your watch to read your bottom time underwater and the numbers face the dial (and the minute hand). As the bezel rotates, the numbers face the dial and are easier to read. I'd imagine back in the day when the watch was the primary method a diver had to track time, it was more of a safety issue. I wouldn't want to mistake my bottom time because I misread an upside down number! For the desk divers...no big deal. :)
I'm still going to order a Moray though, because it's going to be a damn fine watch!
