Hardest part is bezel... I try and just go around the bezel a full 360 in one direction until it is as uniform as can be.

I find the 3M sponge to be best as it does not tend to leave an "end" spot </< whereas the 2000 grit automotive grit paper does. Perhaps it is due to the sponge  and the gentle lifting of pressure as I am about to come to a stop on the bezel at the 360 degree mark.

The rest is actually pretty easy if you are methodical about it and have a specific stroke for each section on the case e.g. lugs, sides etc.
