Excuse my cognitive dissonance... I was thinking of the famed photo-journalist, Jim Marshall.

Funny Jim Martin story... I was working the parking lot at Shoreline Amphitheatre for a big package show which had FNM on the bill. Either a Lollapalooza or Live 105 BFD. This was shortly after Jim Martin left the band. At any rate a little Saturn puled in the lot. I leaned it to take the parking money and found Jim Martin in the back seat. I felt bad for him arriving to the show like one of the masses. So I reached in, shook his hand and told him the parking was on me. It was the least I could do.

Many have expressed interest in bands I feature on my YouTube channel. There are videos from The 'Mats, FNM, The Police and more. You can view them here: http://www.youtube.com/user/paxman1965

Pax, when did you work for BGP?? I worked a couple of seasons back in my college days, mostly at the Greek Theater and the Oakland Coliseum.

We were recruited by Molly and company from CSUH Water Polo team, because we were big and ugly.

I have a good friend who is a General Manager at Shoreline and still upgrades us on shows.

I remember Bill coming up to my friend at shoreline and telling him off, because he had expressed his opionion that Stevie Nicks was sounding horrible...goofy

Small world of course.

I was with BGP from 1990 to 1997. I was a yellow coat at Shoreline. I'm assuming you were a blue coat. We had lots of fun in those lots and then got in for the shows and unlike the blue coats we could actually face the stage.

Pretty freaky to be in the middle of thousands of raging party people with thousands of dollars in a bag. There were collecting fat bank on the parking. Of all the crowds I worked I only felt fear from the Parrot Heads. I tell you, Deadheads, Metallica fans, Lollapalooza fans, Ozz-fest were all tame compared to the Parrot Heads!toon1.gif

Had some good times and saw a butt load of great shows... and some not so great. Always enjoyed the Greek as a venue and had some WAY OUT times at Oakland Coliseum.yourock.gif
