 "Buy the seller, not the watch". That's a very good rule in very few words. I never spend more than US$200 for a used watch, even if it's a little known vintage. It hurts a lot when you find out something about it down the road. Another referral would be http://www.watchseller.com. I got my Vollmer U5 brand new from them and they are pros, run by a father and son team. David is my usual contact over there.
