Right off, just from the serial numbers, a difference is easy: price point. The SB series are more expensive than the SKs. Some SBs start at the US$450 to US$500 levels and many SKs start of at US$60 to US$80 points. The SB series uses the more exotic Seiko calibers like the 8L35 and the 6R15, generally fitted into better made Seiko diver watch series, and are made in Japan. I think these are screw-down crowns. The SKs series uses the cheaper 7S26, with 23 jewels, and 7S36 movements with 2 jewels extra. The 7S26 movements have been around since the early 70s. I grew up on the 7S26 lines and frequently received hand-me-downs from my uncles. The 7S36 are newer and are improvements on the 7S26 versions. I just don't know how 2 jewels can improve a movement but I guess it spreds the friction versus more contact points. Another salient difference would be lubricants. The SBs use finer lubricants than the SKs. As for the other differences, I'd leave it to the other gentlemen on this forum that specialize on Seikos. Hope this helps.
