In fact, based on what I have read in the past from another forum, it IS the gold standard for lume. I can attest to that because it beats my other watches by a mile. My son uses his black monster as a bedside night clock capable of being read easily in good darkness and a groggy pair of eyes.

Something else you might want to know about your Seiko monster: when the hour hand and minute hand align perfectly at say 12, 3:15, 6:30 and 8:45, the overlap resembles a rocket in flight. The rotor is also smaller so that there is a lower probability of early damage from frequent internal wear and tear. The tradeoff here on a smaller rotor is that power reserve is only about 24 hours.

Hey BRP.  Thanks for the feedback.  I haven't found anything that glows brighter than my OM either but then again, I don't have many high-end watches.....yet :D so I'm glad to get feedback from people who own or have owned more expensive watches.

As for the rocket ship, I've seen that mentioned in other forums and I quietly enjoy the image whenever I happen to glance at my watch and the two are overlapping.
