 Skip's suggestion is good - it's probably just loc-tite holding on a bit too much. 

Heat can sometimes help (so, for example, sometimes I run or dunk under hot water for 5-10 minutes, or try a hair dryer), & then just slow steady gentle torque.  A strip of masking tape or painters tape on the outside of the lugs can help protect the case from scratches.  If you can figure out a way to tape the watch down or have someone hold the case while you use two hands, one to hold the screwdriver on one side steady and the other to turn the second screwdriver on the other side, that also helps a lot (and you have to use two screwdrivers, one on each side, or it just turns the tube in place).  I use a Bergeon 6730 tool, which is great, but they run about $100 so prob not worth it for an individual.



If you continue to have trouble, take it to a nearby jeweler… many will undo it for free, but even those who charge will only charge you $15-20.  It should only be difficult the first time.
