I'm of a similar mind.  While the watch itself looks pretty darn cool (imho) I don't get the appeal of space dust or Titanic rust.  I certainly don't think it should be the major selling point either.  I think there's lots cooler things about mechanical watches than saying there's a finite layer of moon dust on it.

 

Maybe if you were an astronaut and brought something back from space and you had it made into a watch then I can see the personal appeal but I just don't get this stuff they're selling.
