 I would go for the Rolex Explorer or the Breitling.  The good news is that you really can't make a bad choice.

The Rolex is a classic and functional watch that you can enjoy on every occassion.  I like the Breitling for many of the same reasons...a nice clean, but dressy diver.  I also really like the mesh bracelet.  I just put a mesh on my Omega SMP and it is a great look and great feel.
