Please forgive the "abruptness" of one of my colleagesmistake.gif...he is generally a nice guy (subtlelaugh.gif)...the Search Engine will do you well and their are varying personal opinions on the differences.  My personal opinion is that the Miyota is a little more rugged and the ETA a little more accurate.  They are both very fine movements, but, for some reason, the "Swiss Made" tag seems to demand more respect (and money)...although the Japanese make plenty of quality, high end watches that rival the Swiss.
