I read somewhere that they sell virtually everything they can produce, somewhere in the 750,000 to 1,00,000 watches range.
So, if you can sell everything you can produce at an outrageous price, you can easily raise the price until resistance is met. It is also my understanding that Rolex is privately owned, and after the officers (elaborate, I am sure) salaries, expense, etc., the prifit is donated to charity. The Hans Wilsdorf family trust that takes a small percentage, and all the rest go to the trust (Rolex Institute Trust) purposes set out by Hans Wilsdorf.
