And heat for the winter...or no chickens in the winter? :)
I have a heat lamp in the coop for them. I will also close up the vents to keep the drafts off them. May even insulate the coop. They will still go outside in the winter and dig in the snow for food.
I will also have to trick them so they keep laying many eggs. It goes off the amount of day light they have. When the days get shorter they lay less eggs. I will have to have a light on a timer inside so they still get about 15 hours of light.
