Pulling the crown out for quartz watch storage will save only an insignificant 0.0000001% of the battery life. ![]() But pulling the crown out will also allow moisture and dust to enter the case. For a quartz, just leave the battery in. In my case, I have a quartz Swatch that I use for regulating my automatics and I make it a point to change the battery, irregardless of the short length of time used, at every birthday of mine. This ensures there's always a good battery that won't leak inside the watch.:)
