At its core, its a Marathon mod.... stainless steel case, unidirectional bezel, water tight screw down crown and case back.  I went with trit vial hands and dial for a real military look.  It will be getting a leather band shortly to replace the NATO.   The case sits really low and the NATO does nothing for the watch, IMO.

The movement is (insert gasp) quartz.  My dad, when questioned about movement, said 'You grandfather would've bought the simple, reliable, no fuss version'.  Choice made.

Thanks for the kind words.  Its a different watch than I'm used to, as the case is a little smaller than my others (Omega Seamaster Professional, Seiko Monster, Citizen Skyhawk AT), but I really wanted a more utilitarian style.
