Yes, Marc Frankel told me that the Russian's used to use that red dot to navigate in their airplanes. I can't imagine it. Wouldn't those old planes vibrate, etc. You'd think the bezel would be constantly turning in such an environment. But, then I have never flown an airplane. :D
