The good news: two watches arrived today. The bad news: one of them is not working... I got an Invicta 6016, that is REALLY nice. Much nicer looking than the 8926 I got a couple of weeks ago (and that I was not sure it was a keeper. Now I am sure it is not). The bezel is stunning and works flawlessly, the movement is beautifully decorated. IMHO, the Miyota in the 8926 might be a workhorse, but it is ugly as sin. Better have it on a non-exhibition caseback. The date magnifier actually works. And probably the flame fusion crystal will last unscratched longer. It has more personality, as it is does look as a cross between a YachtMaster a SeaMaster (dialwise) instead of just a copy of one watch. I believe that it migh be difficult to get a nicer watch for what I paid (a bit north of U$ 50...). One think I do not understand is the design choice of a non-screwed crown. Another thing I do not understand is how it gets the same 200m rating without it. I am currently timing the movement accuracy (8926's Miyota was + 20, compared to +3 to +4 for my Gevril's 2824-2). The other one is a Golana Aqua 200. Really nice looking. But it does not work and the crown-quick date change feature does not work either (anyone had the same problem with an ETA quartz movement?). If I adjust the time and go past midnight, the date changes, though. So, mixed feelings :(... The problem also is that I am in Santiago, Chile, and the watch was purchased from the USA and shipped to a PO box system I use, so pretty far away and complex. Although I am not 100% in the mood, I guess that getting new watches and not sharing would show bad manners. So here we go... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
