It's always a plus to put a piece of scotch tape on the case where you insert the knife as an added precaution. Insert the blade as if opening a clam. I personally use a thin bladed paring knife for years now and it's worked best for me. (Chicago Cutlery 102S), and there is one in the kitchen somwhere...lol
