Well...I have Paxman to thank for a little enabler push on this Glycine Lagunare 3819...every since I saw his I have been thinking I'd eventually get one if the right one came up.

I have really liked the Glycine brand (probably going back 20+ years...just really like the history, simplicity of the designs, and the fact that they have stayed true to the brand over many decades), and have never owned one so this is my first Glycine.:)

The right one came up (surprisingly a new one at a fantastic price with 2 year international warranty with the Gycine Rubber Strap and Glycine Leather Strap)...and well...I went ahead and jumped on it despite the fact that I'm really planning not to purchase anything for a little while subtlelaugh.gif - thanks 3T (except for the Vortex which has been on preorder).

If I look at my very small collection, all of my watches are "dark dial" watches...nearly all are black dial with one blue dial in the bunch, so this Pale Yellow dialed Lagunare is really something different for me and I'm glad I added it to the group.

The Lagunare is available with a display back or a stainless steel back...this one happens to have the display back which is pretty rare in a 300m diver.  This is a large watch with 46mm bezel diameter (and measures a solid 57mm lug-to-lug which is 1mm larger than another large watch the Debaufre Csar which measures 56mm lug-to-lug).  I really didn't think I would ever purposely exceed the 56mm lug-to-lug distance...and in fact the seller stated that the Lagunare measured 54mm so I was thinking...no problem.  Well, this does give the Lagunare some unmistakable wrist presence, but the watch is only 12.5 mm thick with the diplay back (12mm with the solid back), and so it wears much smaller and is really quite comfortable on the wrist given the other proportions...I am really liking this one alot so far.

I'm very impressed with the build quality...very nice satin brushed finish on bezel and case, lug tops with very nice polished sides and back.  Love the super clean, highly legible dial which is classic Glycine.  The unique bezel lock for the bi-directional bezel is just so cool.  Superluminova Lume is actually quite good and I like the fact that the dial numbers are lumed on this pale yellow dial.

Here are several quick and dirty pics:
