If I were just heating the house, I would only use one load of wood.  Being that I am also heating a 32'x48' and a 40'x45" pole buildings with 13' ceilings and 2 10'x10' garage doors each, it adds to the wood usage.  Plus its good exercise to get out and cut and stack all that wood. one another note, i have the furnace fired all year long.  I heat my domestic hot water with it also.  Endless hot water.:D
