WOW!  I wouldn't have ever guessed that all those factors would go into changing a dial.  Although, it does sound as if you learned the hard way.  Thanks for the heads up.

After reading Hammer's post, your suggestions sound much more economical and practical.  My biggest problem is trying to find a strap to fit my wrist (8.25 inches/21 mm).  Most companies don't make straps long enough.  As for the custom makers, some of them are "proud" of what they sell, and as it's been said before - "I ain't puttin' no $50 saddle on no two bit horse." 

Débaufré isn't a cheap watch, don't get me wrong, but to take and put a $100-200 strap on an ~$600 watch now makes it an $800 dollar watch.  I would never wear it to work, and may or may not wear it too much at play because of the cost. 

Who knows, maybe I'll say WTF and jump in with both feet.  It's just money, and you can't take it with you.
