On average I wind my 2824's 20 or so half turns each week and have never had the issue, and I have a few. The seals on some stems are so tight and offer a lot of resistance but that should be felt from first turn. The winding of the spring is an ever increasing tension to the point that it slips as Marc said. Had the hair springs seem to want to stick the first wind on some Unitas hand winds but never on a 2824.Bingo!!!! It does offer resistance from first turn and when I listen to it, it sounds ok like the main spring is not under any undo stress...If you know what I mean!!!
