From my side, as I ever said, those price for a 2824-2 ETA inside are too high. It is my personnal opinion that for this price range, I want an inhouse.
Well: Most of 2824-2 in good watches got the Incabloc. Nothing SO damn special there... Kobold got this soft iron housing: For anti-magnetism as I understand it.
Seriously, I live in the Arctic: 68.5 grades North. I worked 3 winters at 70.4 grades norths and had much of -35 dg C there: When it's as cold as that, you cover yourself enough ,your watch is protected and your wrist warm it anyway: Never heard of a guy who had his mechanic watch freezing since he had it on it's wrist. I've made the experience with a Tissot T-touch in titanium puted on a steel bench outside, who took half hour to go from hand temperature to -5 dg C. So a watch is far to freez at once even it's cold outside.
The anti-magnetic??? When I'm outside in the wind at -35 , I don't need it or I should hang around magnetic fields who would even be bad for my health(high tension convertors for exemple)...No polar expedition there: You're a high-tension pole worker in the arctic maybe...??? Get yourself a Rolex Millegausse if you really need a watch for that job.
I tell you what: A simple good 2824-2 ETA incabloc is good on your hand even you hang outside in -50 gr C like it can be sometimes in the plains up here. You don't need a Kobold for that: A good Marathon SAR will do it as good.
If your watch have to freez, it will anyway.
To conclude: Yes I believe that you will find those feratures in the Kobold but you can visit the Arctic in winter with another good automatic watch without experiencing troubles...
I will make soon a test actualy! I will let one of my watches: Maybe my SAR to have a night alone outside in -15 dg C and we will see what happen! Matter of weeks before I do that
