What was the doorknob made from? Reason I ask is it maybe just a transfer of material from the knob to the watch crystal, and may be able to be polished off.
Just a thought.
My thought too. I've dinged plenty of crystals on door knobs and counter corners and never actually scratched the crystal but rather just left a bit of residue which initially presented like a scratch
